Welcome to the Roku Community, @irmavoyle2012!
Thank you for taking the time to share your insights regarding your Roku remote voice finder, we truly value your input. To ensure we provide you with the best assistance possible, could you please let us know which type of Roku remote you are using? Additionally, please be assured that purchasing a new TV is not necessary, as we offer a remote that includes the feature you’re interested in.
The lost remote finder is supported on any Roku voice remote with a built-in speaker, such as the Roku Voice Remote Pro and Roku Remote Pro (2nd edition). To determine if your voice remote is compatible, look for small speaker holes on the back of your remote. If you do not see any speaker holes and wish to use the lost remote finder, you can purchase an upgraded remote from the Roku accessories store.
Hope you'll find this info useful. Let us know in case you still have any questions.
Thanks,
Jharra

I just purchased the voice remote pro 2nd edition. When I tell it to find my remote it shows on the screen that the remote paired is not compatible. In the settings it lets me pick between 2 sounds. But will not play the preview. Any thoughts?

The Roku Voice Remote Pro 2nd Edition works with Roku TVs, most Roku players, and Roku audio devices. However, it may be incompatible with some older generations of Roku devices.
It is recommended that you pair the Roku Voice Remote Pro 2nd Edition with a newer model of Roku device, utilize its remote finder feature, and hear the preview of its sound that can be found in Settings.
