Is there a way to make your phone screen turn off when your remote is being used. If you don't push a button to turn it off it stays on and just kills your battery.
Hi, @scottatl
Thanks for the question!
If you are simultaneously using the Roku mobile app and your Roku remote while streaming, you can manually turn the screen off on your mobile device to save battery.
Additionally, if you are using the Roku mobile app to play content on your Roku device, you can also turn off your mobile phone's screen.
Let us know if this answers your concern, or respond to us in this thread to clarify your question so we can attend to it.
Thanks,
Kash
Thank you for the response. This is specifically when I am using my phone as the remote control. It works great but if I forget to manually turn the screen off it burns battery. It would seem that the screen would shut down after a bit, or let users sell the time out timeline. Anyways it is a great product.....
Thanks for keeping us posted, @scottatl
While using the Roku mobile app as a remote and your mobile device screen is currently on, it indicates that the Roku mobile app is activated.
We would suggest setting up the screen timeout on your mobile device that turns off your screen within a specific time or duration of inactivity. This is a power-saving feature that reduces the amount of battery life consumed by the display when the device is not in use.
Thanks,
Kash
