New voice remote

I just received my new remote and the light on the back is continuously blinking. I plugged it in to charge and it was left overnight but still blinking. It will no pair with my tv and when I tried the support it says I don’t have one. I am getting ready to just return it

If this one of newer rechargeable roku remotes you are the first to show up here with one. 

Even if the light is already blinking, still press and hold the pairing key in the battery compartment for 5 seconds and release, let it communicate with roku or  roku tv.

You may have to unplug the power to the Roku for a few seconds then plug it back in to make it receptive to the pairing attempt from the remote.  [Don't know for sure, but I *think* it's the same with a Roku TV.]
