The OP had has LG remote control the Roku Stick, not Roku remote controlling the LG tv.
If it's truly a Roku Stick, @Cleverof does the Roku Stick have built-in hdmi connector sticking out? Or does it accept a Hdmi cable? It can't be controlled via IR remote, and the LG doesn't have wifi roku commands, it could only control it by internet, IP.
Yes, I had that too!! I had to delete the Roku device set up on the hub and delete the full "Watch TV" activity completely and start from scratch. I think it must have had something to do with the Roku update. But when I tore it all down and added the Roku as a new device (and set the Roku advanced setting to permissive) and recreated my Watch TV activity, I got it all back - including the special Roku buttons. Make sure you select the method as Wifi, because some of those buttons won't work if you use IR. I did it several times and it kept failing - played with it for like an hour and finally got it. When creating the Watch activity make sure you add the Roku first. The Harmony is certainly different than the Sofabaton, but it's similar. Hopefully after a few tries it will come around for you. Very weird problem, and neither Roku nor (in my case) Sofabaton got back to me. Best of luck to you!
I'm also in the same boat now. I can't get my Harmony to work at all with the Roku.
This fixed my issue! Thanks!
I have two Roku Premieres controlled by Logitech Harmony hubs and both ran afoul of the Roku update. Switching The setting to permissive worked for me.
I will try this and let you know. Thanks for the suggestion.
It is the stick with the built in HDMI connector. The thing is, it's been working for a couple of years and all of a sudden it doesn't work....that's why I think it was an update gone wrong.
Thanks @Tivoburkee I read it backwards. Mea culpa. 😁
Same issue. I was out of town last night and my wife mentioned the Harmony remote stopped controlling the Roku streaming stick immediately after some sort of software update. I’m home now and tried deleting and re-adding the Roku within the Harmony app before Googling and finding this thread. No issue controlling the Roku with its own remote and all other Harmony-controlled devices work fine. Hopefully Roku will see this quickly and address after the weekend.
I was considering upgrading to a Roku Ultra for faster processing but will definitely hold off until this is resolved.
Updating my own reply from a few minutes ago after seeing the other posts — changing the advanced setting to “permissive” resolved the issue. Thanks Internet!
Same problem here. Streaming Stick 4K with Harmony Elite and Hub. Not finding the Roku when I try to scan for it, and doesn't support IR. Considering getting an Ultra and setting it up via IR only if this continues, or ditching the Roku altogether if this can't be fixed.
