Hello, I’m Gary, a Roku customer for about 20 years.
I’ve posted before, and thank the experts for trying to represent Roku’s remote control products.
As Dolly Parton wrote, “Here we go again”.
This post is inspired by nightly, cursing at the Roku remote, regardless of the version.
I have the rechargeable headphone jack version three months old. Last night, even though fully charged the remote disconnected from the TV. I had no ability to control the remote fully charged at 100% and had to unplug the TV from the outlet to go to bed.
It took me a good 15 minutes to get it up and running this morning, as it was a total new reinstall all on its own.
over the last month and I have mentioned this before, it has a new trick where if the TV is paused for any more than a couple of minutes. Like a quick run to the bathroom or the kitchen, when you push play it winds all the way to the beginning of the show. This is now happening in every room on all three remotes.
then once you turn it off and turn it back on again, you try to find where you were in your show. You push play, and the screen is frozen, but the audio continues. This happened, multiple times over the NFL playoffs. Pause it for a moment, and you’re screwed.
in addition I have never heard of an on and off power switch that really isn’t a full on and off power switch? I was told via this community that I need to tell Roku to turn off the remote. But when I unplugged my earbuds, it turns the TV back on again. or better yet rewind the video that I’m watching to the very beginning again.
I have read multiple reviews of the incompetence of this company and their remotes. if you have one you know what I’m talking about. I would leave Roku in a heartbeat, Verizon now has a new Challenger. But I like having the headphone out on the remote. no one else in the marketplace, seems to make it.
What will it take to get this company to make a solid product that people don’t complain about!
