My remote won’t pair for Roku Express 4K+

I just opened a Roku Express 4K+ and the remote won’t pair. I tried pushing the button for five seconds. I unplugged everything and tried again. I have never had trouble with this before and I have 2 other Roku’s. I guess I have to return it. There is no support phone number to call someone.

I had the same problem but found a solution. I took the batteries out of the remote then connected the Roku device to the TV and power. I then turned on the TV to the right outlet and then reset the Roku device by holding a small screwdriver (a paper clip would work also) on the rest button on the back of the device for 10 seconds. Then I put the batteries in the remote and pressed the pairing button. Everything then worked as it is supposed to. Hope this works for you too.

My remote won't pair either.. it keeps blinking even after pushing the button for 20 seconds to "reset" the it. It just keeps blinking.. I tried calling but can't wait on hold for 26 minutes.

I am having the same issue with pairing my Express 4k+ remote.  Serial number is S07P515SX0H1.  Will the support team respond on this forum?

  • I’m having the same issue, I have tried every forum every suggestion and still won’t pair. Very frustrating. What do I do now? Threw the box away as soon as I opened it because I ordered 2 and the first one I hooked up had no issues.

  • The remote for my new Roku Express 4K + wouldn’t pair. I remembered a trick for programming garage door openers and it worked.

I had two remotes from two different Roku Express 4k + devices and neither turned on the Roku or the tv. The green pairing light under the battery cover on one lit up but the other didn’t. I pointed them toward each other about two inches apart and held both pairing buttons at the same time. At first the green light on both remotes flashed slowly, then quickly, then stopped. Suddenly both remotes could turn the tv off and on.

But the volume control and mute button on neither remote functioned. So I pressed home on the first remote, arrowed down to ‘settings’ on the tv screen, then arrowed over to ‘remote and devices.' Next I  arrowed over to ‘remotes’ and finally to ‘set up remote for tv control.’  After I followed the steps on the screen, that remote was fully functional. But, I discovered that only one remote connected to the Roku Express 4k+ can control the volume and mute buttons.
