Re: ROKU TV Suddenly won't connect to Internet - no problem before now

@KP11 if your WiFi isn't visible, but others are, the first thing to check is the channel your wireless router is using. For 2.4 GHz, the channel must be 1, 6 or 11. It can't see channels 12, 13 or 14. Also make sure your 2.4 GHz radio is enabled. If your Roku supports 5 GHz (you didn't specify your Roku model number), the channel must be 48 or below, or 149 or higher. The in-between channels are called DFS channels, and are not legal to use in some locations, so Roku devices don't support them at all.

@Virgo, we need more information.  Are you getting any error messages?  Are you certain your Wi-Fi is broadcasting on a 2.4GHz channel from 1 to 11?  Whats the model number displayed under Settings->System->About?  Who is your Internet service provider?

Ours is not connecting either
The system worked fine until mid evening last night.
This is a brand new system from ROKU
Then first the phone app stopped working on my phone, then the same on the app on my wifes phone,,
Next our ROKU remote quit working as well.
I have unplugged our ROKU numerous times, have pushed in and held the reset button a bunch of times, I have changed batteries in the remote. NADA
I have rebooted the wifi twice, and then tried it all again.
The ROKU will come on with the rolling logo, then when nothing changes I reset the remote, it goes to what appears to be a start up page, asking which language i would be in, but at that point its dead. No remote working, no nothing.
I've been a Roku user for years, but this is HUGELY disappointing!
Any and all help much appreciated!

@tkull, is there a button in the remote's battery compartment?  That's not a reset button; it's a pairing button.  Press and hold the button until the green light flashes and then unplug the power from the Roku for several seconds and plug it back in.

@tkull, I thought there might be a button since you said you "reset the remote".  If there's no button then it's an IR remote that must have a clear line of sight to the front of the Roku device.  You should see the light on the front of the Roku flash whenever you press a button on the remote.  You can verify whether an IR remote is sending a signal by using a digital camera like the one in your phone.  When you press a button on the remote you should see a flash of light on the camera's screen.
