Cannot connect new smart plug

Hello,

I recently purchased a smart plug.  When I follow the steps, I am unable to connect; the app takes me to a page offering a "Next" button.  When I hit that, I am taken to a page that says: "Turn on your location to let Roku get the the time of sunset and sunrise".  

When I hit  "No thanks". I will be taken to the previous page offering me "Next again.  When I hit that, I am taken once again to the above-mentioned page asking for location.  When I hit the other option that is offered, "Go to settings", I am not offered any mention of location.  Please help!

I've tried to call, but have not gotten any response.
