What?  Look, there is an issue with the Roku platform.  No doubt.   A few years ago there was an issue with the Android TV platform.   It took a few MONTHS before the platform began working as expected. 

It happens..  It's a technical issue that needs to be corrected.  It doesn't mean there is some kind of conspiracy.  That's ridiculous.  

If you have swung to the AppleTV platform because of a failure of a single app, you are probably missing the bigger picture..   There is a reason why the Roku platform has 65% of the market share and Apple TV has 8.

I have no agenda here.. I am just an engineer in the service business and understand issues like this can crop up and it takes time to find an resolve them.   The instant resolution expectation of today is unrealistic.  Even finding the right source of failure can be an issue.  Do we know this is an issue with the Roku or is it an issue with the developers of the NFL app ?

I appreciate the input, but it’s kind of strange that the NFL app works on every other manufacturer’s device except for Roku. And the timing couldn’t be worse, it started failing for the first week of the playoffs and still is failing through week 2 of the playoffs. Do either of us know the exact reason why its failing? No. But if there is a licensing disagreement, this would definitely be a way the NFL could force the issue.


Roku market share? Sure, it's popular and works excellent for the most part. But my circumstance dictates that the NFL app works correctly. The NFL app to me is the most important app that I use. I'm a diehard NFL fan and look forward to and really enjoy watching the games especially in my theater room where I have thousands invested. These past 2 weekends have been extremely aggravating, frustrating and embarrassing. This was / is a NFL fans worst nightmare, not being able to watch the games and miss them entirely. I've spent hours trying to figure out what was preventing the app from working with no success. And the first weekend was with guests that came over to watch the games.


With that being said, this malfunction was enough to put me over the edge. I’m settling in with the Apple TV and I must say that I’m liking the interface along with the picture quality and sound. I’m also noticing that my screen no longer shows all the marketing ads. And lastly, the NFL app is working perfectly! We shall see…
