This fix worked for me on my 3 Roku Ultras when I received the 14.1.4:7709 update. Perhaps it just skipped the 7708 update in my case.
This has worked for two years of my LG OLED C1 55 inch and it stop working on the update from Roku on 1/8/2025 and Roku say it does not work but it does in fact work and good thing because I rather use the apps of the TV than two remotes!
On the LG OLED TV the Roku only works in HDMI port two that is an (e)ARC port for certain it may work on other ports once you fix the Roku setting problem. Use the ARC port for now and the set the universal setting for HDMI port two an OTT device and Roku device. Then why it stopped working on the Roku stick go to settings/system/ advanced system settings/ controlled by mobile apps network set to permissive and then power off and on the Roku to change the setting and then it will work again!
I am now also experiencing the same issue with the Roku favorites showing numbers and not the channel icons on my harmony remote.
Mine LG Magic remote was working with roku up until about a week ago. Now it won’t
Thank you! Now I will be able to enjoy the rest of my weekend instead of chasing down rabbit holes.
I think it's worth pointing out that I saw my Harmony control of my Roku go to #%^&! just after the latest Roku update was pushed out. Roku, if you're going to follow a policy of "no backsies" on FW updates, _please_ be more careful on future updates!
@Wild_Fan_1, set Network access to Enabled or Permissive under Settings->System->Advanced system settings->Control by mobile apps.
same issue here, I thought it was time to ditch the Harmony! Thank goodness I came upon this fix!!!! So happy!!!
