DD+ (EAC3) support was restored via a Paramount+ server-side provisioning change earlier today (the same way it was removed 2 weeks ago via a server-side provisioning change), not via a software (RokuOS firmware or Paramount+ app) update.
Today's release of RokuOS firmware version 14.1.4 build 7713 for the 4850 is entirely unrelated and simply coincidental timing.
Thank you very much for the information. Much appreciated!
Mine is working now also.
I figured it was Paramounts screw up and it makes me a little angry that they pointed the finger at Roku.
Yes, but they should work together to solve this problem for the customers.
Yes, it appears to be restored and fixed. Dolby Digital and Dolby Atmos are back!!
Thank you for fixing the issue. We now do have Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital. Much appreciate it!
It definitely was NOT the Roku update! I got the update a few days ago and right after the update was done I went to P+ and everything was still only 2 channel. Yesterday I went to P+ to finish watching Gladiator 2 and as soon as it started I could tell that the audio was much more fuller than before and I checked the status of my AVR and indeed it was DD+.
So, of course it WAS Paramount that screwed up and of course they initially blamed Roku. Hopefully it will say corrected!
Editorial: I have a pretty good Atmos system with 4 overhead channels for a total system of 7.1.4 channels. But I must admit that many movies really don't take advantage of all the channels. Yes, there is sound coming from all the speakers but most of the time it's just adding to the overall sound and there is not very much in the way of real directional audio. Yes, some movies do have some directional sound but most don't. Gladiator 2, in my opinion, had very little directional sound. Lastly, I have read reviews of several movies in magazines and on line and the reviewers say the same thing - not much directional audio.

I still have yet to install overhead speakers for Atmos!
