The * (asterisk) for Options button on the Home page has disappeared for the TOP LEFT app only.

Dazed and Confused. The (* for Options) button on the Home page has disappeared for the TOP LEFT app only. I have moved many different apps to the top left position and the (* for Options) button will not be displayed for any app moved into this position. I have restarted the device many times and uninstalled and reinstalled any app moved into this position however the result is always the same no (* for Options) button is available. All other app positions have the (* for Options) button displayed.

Interesting.  I checked this on the three different models I have hooked up at the moment, and didn't see what you are reporting.

Edited to add:

All my Rokus are still on Roku version 12.5.5 -- have you been updated to version 13 that is currently rolling out?  Settings > System > About will show you the Roku software version number.

Otherwise, the only thing I can think to suggest is a Factory Reset, but recognize this puts you back in a new-out-of-the-box condition and you have to set the Roku up again from scratch.   You might decide the lack of  a * option for one channel tile is not enough of an irritant to do a Factory Reset.

Thank you for the reply and the suggestion. I forget to mention that I have the Roku Express 4K+ and that the Roku is still on the version 12.5.5 build 4174-E4 manually checked today and no version 13 as yet. I also forgot to include that I have performed the Factory Rest (several times), and it can be an irritant that is for sure. I have performed all of the troubleshooting steps that I know about concerning this minor issue. Is it possible that this issue can somehow be related to the What to Watch and the associated Continue Watching option?

Random thought.  Sometimes people report they've found display issues like the ads Roku has added to  the bottom left of the home screen are affected by the wallpaper they've chosen to use.

Random question. How and/or why would my choice of wallpaper affect ONLY ONE app channel tile (TOP LEFT) and not affect ALL app channel tiles as well?

I have the Roku Express 4K+ with the OS version 13.0.0 - build 24056-E4. I still have the very minor issue with the channel tile * (asterisk) option button not being displayed on the Home Page the TOP LEFT channel tile only. I have experimented for many weeks with all of the associated Home Screen options settings. Layout - Recommendation rows - Tile size (I am glad to have the option to choose small again). Menu items - Live TV - What to Watch - Featured Free - Sports - Shortcuts. The Recommendation rows "Show" is the only setting that will display the channel tile * option button. I prefer to use the "What to Watch" option which is the quickest and fewer button presses to access the "Continue Watching" section. The lack of the channel tile * option button is not a deal breaker for use of the device. It just seems odd that the Recommendation rows is the only option that will allow the * button to be displayed for the TOP LEFT channel tile. I have performed all of the Roku recommended troubleshooting steps many times which includes Factory Reset.

@ThisishT, after reading your post I checked one of my Roku devices on 13.0 (a 3920) and saw the same thing.  Very strange.  I checked a different device that recently updated and didn't see the problem.  On the one with the problem, I tried moving the tile to the right of the top left one into position 1 and while the tile didn't move (I think that's a different problem), suddenly the Options appeared for the top left tile.  I can't repeat the missing Options for the top left tile (item 1 on the Home Screen).  I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Thanks, renojim for your reply and information. The * button option will appear only if and when the Recommendation rows "Show" option is selected. I prefer to use the less cluttered "What to Watch" option however this option (also Tile size - Live TV - Featured Free - Sports) will omit the * button option for any tile located in the top left position 1. I have 9 channel tiles on my Home screen. I have moved each channel tile to the top left position 1 many times and the * option button will be omitted for any tile on the top left position 1 until the Recommendation rows Show option is selected. I am not complaining. I am just confused about how and why the * button option will appear only when the Recommendation rows Show is selected.
