Roku Screen Saver / Raspberry Pi / Stream photographs

I'd like to be able to take the photographs that are stored on my PC and randomly stream (cast) them to my Roku-connected TV.  Has anyone done this?  I'm wondering if I can use the Roku Screen Saver feature to link it to a Raspberry Pi acting as a Plex Server or maybe the Pi should be running the Roku App.  Not sure. What do you think?

I stream pictures all the time from my networked computer via the Roku Media Player app. You need to be running a DLNA server on your computer to serve the media.  I use TVersity but there are a number of others.
