Roku Express 4K not able to connect Airplay

Hi, 

This problem has been bugging me quite a while. I wasn’t able to airplay with my roku express 4K. I had tried several methods but still no luck. I would appreciate any help if anyone facing the same problem.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that I had did: 

1. making sure they are under the same network. Include turning off VPN on my phone. 

2. Tested iPhone on other Air play available devices. I have another TV with build in Airplay. My phone is able to detect that tv but not my Roku. 

3. Firmware are updated on both of Roku and IPhone. 

4. make sure airplay is turned on on Roku and screen mirroring mode is always allow

5. rebooted and restarted devices

6. tried manually key in IP address to connect my devices with Roku 

I am running out of ideas on how to make it works. Please help if you know any troubleshooting methods! Much appreciated.

Roku model: 3940CA2 - Roku Express 4K 

software version: 14.0

iPhone 13 Pro Max, ios18

      I have same issue.  My new Roku Express 4K model 3941 with latest SW and FW can't connect to any iphone or ipad in the house.  I tried everything suggested but still nothing works.  Please keep me updated.

        Thanks for letting us know about your trouble with the Airplay feature on your Roku device.

        We want to gather more information; please provide the following details below so we can include your device in the process of investigation:

        • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and current software version. (this can all be found in Settings > System > About)
        • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)
        • The iOS version and make and model of your iPhone.
        • What is the make and model of your modem and router?
        • What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?

      Hi! 

      thank you for the update!! 

      I found out why I won’t be able to connect. 

      Both of my Roku and iPhone are connected to guest wifi. As it’s only provide access to internet and nothing else. Even both of them on the same network, I think it is something with the DNS setting.
