YouTube App loses video when I start playing certain YouTube videos.

I have a HiSense 65" Roku TV

Model            : Hisense Roku TV 65R6+  (65")

Hardware ID  :  C231X

Device Id       : S01L709FD8T7

SW ver : 12.5.0   build 4176-94

YouTube App version : web_20231213_10_RC10

The system is on automatic update, and hence is up-to-date with Apps and FW releases.

I have a serious problem with certain videos on a certain educational YouTube channel. Whenever I start playing them, they blank the screen out, and only audio plays. There is no way to get out of this situation. The only way is to power-off the TV!

One example URL is
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wh_xPD8pXw

However, I can play this URL on my computer or phone, no problem at all.

Thank you

Re: YouTube App loses video when I start playing certain YouTube videos.

The video may be in a format that your TV/Roku does not support. The player on the Roku and the one in the Web Browser are different. That is why it works in one but not the other. If your computer supports it, you can try Casting the video to the TV. Also, if it is a bug, you will need to raise the issue with YouTube Support. Roku won't be able to help you. Good luck!
