I was just watching a movie on Disney and the tv screen turned black and I have tried multiple ways to fix it and nothing have worked.
I'm having the same problem. Last week the same thing happened to me, screen black yet I could here the show but not see it. Screen has not come back on yet.
I truly would appreciate any helpful ideas to correct this problem
Same here, and mine often loses WiFi connection, causing me to have to unplug and reboot, as well.
Did you get it to work? It’s just happened to me as well
Hi Community users,
Greetings from the Roku Community!
We want to gather more information about your issue with the Roku TCL TV. Can you please provide the following information below?
We look forward to your responses and gathering your details.
Thanks,
John
John,
The whole screen is black. The image doesn’t show at all when I turn the tv on. The sound is there though. I put the flashlight on the screen and I was able to see the contents very very dim. I have taken all the troubleshooting steps listed in Roku support (including factory reset both with the button and from the settings menu). I also spent one hour on the phone with Roku support representative today trying to troubleshoot with no success. It is a faulty model. There are even multiple reviews on Best Buy about this and Best Buy is now selling it at clearance for $85. The most depressing party of this is that I bought a $500 tv that died less than two years after.
@julzjulzjulz, your backlight has failed. Join the club. It seems to be a common occurrence on these TVs and has nothing to do with Roku and everything to do with the quality of the products put out by TCL, Hisense, onn, etc. Search the Internet for "failed backlight" and you'll find plenty of information.
No I haven’t been able to. Followed others tips but nothings worked so far. Thanks for inquiring
