Wanting Roku on my Fire 10 tablets

I want to download the Roku app on my Fire tablet but not sure if its there.  So many saying "Roku remote" but not seeing one saying just "Roku app".  I see that others say they have it on their Fire tablets so it must be there but which one?  I'm not very good at this tech stuff at my age of 70 but I do try.

Re: Wanting Roku on my Fire 10 tablets

Hi @ddhafe,

Thanks for the inquiry, and welcome to the Roku Community!

To ensure you're downloading the correct Roku mobile app, search for "Roku" in the app store on your device, making sure the developer is listed as "Roku, Inc." check the app icon to verify it matches the official Roku design, and double-check that you are downloading from the correct app store (Google Play Store for Android, App Store for iOS) to avoid potential third-party imposters.

For more information, you may check out this support article here on how to install the Roku mobile app.

I hope you'll find this helpful information. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do to assist you.

Re: Wanting Roku on my Fire 10 tablets

I have the Roku app on my Fire 10 HD tablet. Some people may call it the remote app, but the remote is just one section within the app. The Roku app is not available in the Amazon Appstore, for obvious reasons!

To install the app you will first need to install the Google Play Store on your tablet. Instructions are available on the web and vary depending on exactly which Fire Tablet you have.

Alternatively if you do not want to install the whole play store you could just sideload the APK file for the Roku app, Be careful. Make sure that you get the APK from a trusted source. If you have an Android phone you could install the Roku app there and then extract the APK file using the APK Extractor app (from the Play Store). Then transfer that file to your tablet and install it. Again, detailed instructions for this should be available on the web.

(Edited to add that I just noticed your comment about your age. Don't worry. I'm 78.)
