TV turning off when extending display from HDMI connected laptop

When I have my laptop connected to the TV through the HDMI port the TV will turn off unexpectedly at random intervals.

The laptop stays on the whole time, and the TV does not have the same problem when streaming or using game consoles

Re: TV turning off when extending display from HDMI connected laptop

Greetings from the Roku Community, @KeytotheLight!

We would like to gather more information and investigate this concern more thoroughly. Can you please provide the following details below?

  • May we know what Roku device are you using right now? (Roku Express, Roku streaming stick, Roku Ultra, Roku streambar, Roku TV-Specify)
  • Could you elaborate more about your concern? Do you want to screen mirror your laptop to the Roku device/TV, or do you want to make the TV its second monitor?

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks,
John
