Initially connected TCL Alto 6 2.0 Sound Bar volume with HDMI to a TCL 55R617 Television using an optical cable.
No problem, except the Roku remote would not control sound and it was desired not to need to use the Sound Bar remote to control volume.
So I switched from optical cable to HDMI cable to use ARC. The volume seems slightly lower than using the optical cable. But the bizarre thing that is happening is that now, when raising volume when using the remote or doing it manually at the sound bar, instead of the volume numerical display going up in single digits (0, 1, 2 3, 4, 5 etc.), the numerical volume displayed goes up like this:
0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 16, 19, 22, 25, 29, 32, 35, 38, 41, 45, 48, 51, 54, 58, 61, 64, 67, 70, 74, 77, 80, 83, 87, 90, 93, 96, 100
Any idea why this is happening? Some streaming channels need to be cranked up for decent volume and it's strange to have it set in the 80s or 90s for acceptable volume.
