Roku Streambar returns to Home Screen

I have a Roku stream bar and after I click on any app or any of the settings it returns to the Home Screen.  I have done a reset via the app, reset via the button on back of sound bar, and unplugged the power button.  Issues happens with both the remote and the app on my phone.

      Hi mlink10 and DirkMu,

Thank you for posting in the Roku Community!

We noticed in your post that on your Roku Streambar when you play any of the channels, it will return to the Roku Home screen. We would like to take a closer look into this issue.

Before we proceed, we'd like to know the following:

      • When did this issue start?
      • Roku Streambar's model
      • What is the software version of the Roku Streambar

In the meantime, we suggest you try the following:

      Check your internet connection:

      1. Press Home on your Roku remote
      2. Scroll and select Settings
      3. Select Network
      4. Select Check connection

If the issue persists, please let us know. Cheers!

It started happening within the last week

        It’s model 9102R

        It’s software version 14.1.4

It’s not an internet connection issue, it has an excellent signal.

I recently bought a Roku SE.

At first, none of the apps would work; closing as soon as opened. I performed a factory reset.

Now the issue is that the what ever I do, even navigating the menus it goes back the main screen within seconds.

Any help greatly appreciated. And if there is no help, how can I return?

I also have the Streambar and this has happened to me twice in the past week. I have tried every suggestion on this thread to no avail. The first time it fixed itself overnight but now it’s broken again. It was working just an hour ago.

Also our Roku is just a little over 1yr old has been working and we just bought a new Samsung Smart TV just over 2wks ago and was working fine till last week.

  • Well add me to the list of dozens of post about the Roku Streambar Freezes and then Reboots.  It is totally random, may go 5 days without doing it, may do it twice in one night.  We have about dozen Roku devices (rokus, streambars, streambar pros, tvs, etc.) and this is the only one that has a problem.

Reading the forums, this problem is VERY common and has being going on for years with no fix.  If I missed a solution or anyone knows of a solution, would GREATLY appreciate the info.

What steps have you taken so far to resolve the issue?
        I've done a hard-reset.  Didn't help.

I've reloaded Youtube app. Didn't help.

Nothing works.  In fact, the system just repeatedly returns to the home screen after a few seconds.
I can navigate to system, about, and snap the pic of the info you need, and before long, the system has returned itself to the home area.  I can run an app, YouTube, and within a few seconds as the app is starting, the system returns to the home screen.

When did you first encounter the issue?
As soon as I got this streambar.
I've only recently opened the box.
This thing doesn't run any apps.
