That depends on what inputs you have on your TV.

If you have HDMI ports on your TV and the Nintendo system (since you didn't specify what system) you bought has HDMI, you connect the HDMI to HDMI ports.

If the Nintendo is older and only has RCA plugs and the TV has RCA (component/composite) plugs, then you can connect those, usually just match the colors.   If one or the other only has HDMI or RCA, then you will need to get some type of converter for that.

From what I am reading the Wii only has RCA (Component cables) and not HDMI, so most likely your NES only has component cables as well.  So, if your TV doesn't have Component plugs, then you will need a converter.   It looks like there are RCA (component/composite) plugs on the R6 specs, and usually these are color coordinated, so just match up the audio/video on each device.

the nes was one of nintendo's first console the third one to be specific

it only has av input there's a white cable thing on the back and if i put the yellow cable in to the thing that says av input on the back of the tv which has a yellow ring around it nothing shows up and i also tried the white cable but it still didn't work and when i plugged the the yellow cable into the av input and the red one into the headphone port it still didn't work

red=audio yellow=video white=rt switch i think

please help me idk what to do and using a converter just doesn't feel right i want to use the av input on my roku and here's my model number 70A51HUR

To clarify, that particular Nintendo model only uses a RCA AV cable as it does not have stereo capabilities.  You should have only 1 audio (red or white) cable and the other cable for video.

Looking at the specs online for the TV that I think you are talking about, it looks like it has composite but no component ports.

If I am mistaken and you have composite ports, the red/white audio cable should go into the Composite white audio port) (either r/l) of your TV (or use a splitter to create dual audio, but not really necessary), and the other should go into the video port of the TV.

If your TV has composite ports with two separate stereo and 3 separate video ports or HDMI only, then you will need an RCA converter.

Hope that helps you.

Modern TVs and older components like the NES don't always play nice with each other, so it may or may not work either way.
