Connecting to an AVR or soundbar using optical for audio

Roku documentation describes how to connect to a non-ARC HDMI using a HDMI cable to the TV and the optical cable to an AVR. My Streambar doesn't provide any output through the optical cable to my Yamaha AVR. Is there something I'm missing...  I connected everything as documented in the Connecting to an AVR or soundbar using optical for audio. Could the documentation be incorrect?

Re: Connecting to an AVR or soundbar using optical for audio

Greetings @RockingRonnie

Welcome to the Roku Community and thanks for posting regarding connecting your Roku Streambar to your home setup.

Is there a reason why you are trying to connect the Roku Streambar to your AVR? The Roku Streambar should be connected to the TV through both HDMI (non-ARC) and optical cable.

For more information about how to connect your Roku Streambar to your TV through HDMI (non-ARC), visit our Support page here: Set up your Streambar Pro

Please keep us posted what you find out and we will be more than happy to continue assisting should you need further assistance.

Thanks,
Danny
