Change user information without factory reset.

Bought a used TCL Roku. Original owner email is linked to account on TV. Don't want to do a factory reset. Is there another work around to add it to my account?

Re: Change user information without factory reset.

Hi @athanwago,

A warm welcome here at the Roku Community!

We understand that you have a query about changing a Roku account without doing a factory reset. Please be advised that a factory reset is the only way to change the Roku account to the device it is assigned to.

You can log into many subscription channels with different credentials, but The Roku Channel is tied to the Roku user account the device is linked to.

In addition, all your existing installed channels will be removed, and whatever channels are attached to the new account will be installed. You must add personal login credentials again for channels that require a login, such as Netflix.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know.
All the best,

Chel
