Strange Issue and Changing ROKU Password

Two things, had my Roku TV on today, was in the kitchen and could here the sound drop. I looked at the TV and the background was black, but 3/4 of the screen had a list of ROKU devices. I saw a TV with the name of one of my neighbors on it, and there was a cursor moving around like a PC screen. I turned the TV off for a while and it never happened again. I'm wondering if someone got into my network, but if so, why would it show on my TV. Going to change my network Password for the heck of it. Has anyone ever seen something like this?

2nd, If I change my ROKU password I imagine I'll have to sign into all my Roku devices again. When I do this, I'm concerned that my saved menus will be gone and I'll have to go to the streaming store, reload and sign in again to all the services. Am I correct in this?

Any advice appreciated, thanks

Re: Strange Issue and Changing ROKU Password

First, you won't have to reattach your existing Roku devices to your user account if you change the user password. They are already linked to your account by the hardware settings, not the user account password.

It sounds to me like someone was screensharing their computer to your Roku. It's similar to the way you can "cast" a web page from a computer to a device, and the term Microsoft uses is MIracast. To my understanding that requires the Roku and the computer to be on the same network, so yes someone was accessing your network. What I recommend is changing your WiFi password in your router, as it sounds like someone nearby knows it.
