unable to watch BBC iplayer

Cannot play BBC iplayer on my Roku 1 device, suddenly stopped playing tonight and message says " this application is not currently supported on your device". Have tried a manual system update and removing and adding the iplayer all to no avail.  Can anyone help, BBC is our favourite station.

Roku 1 model 2710 was introduced 'way back in 2013.

Continuing to support older devices, even those still receiving updates from Roku, greatly complicates the code of channel apps.  Eventually many channels decide to drop including support code for older models that don't have the capabilities of later models.

This BBC page indicates Roku 1 (2710) would be supported until September 20 (but nothing I can see mentions the year).

It sounds like BBC must have dropped support for Roku 1 in their latest update.
