I have  a Roku 3 and a TV with internet only, no tv provider.  I want to subscribe to the CNN $6 monthly subscription.  Can’t make it work because keeps asking for my tv provider.

I think you’re thinking of CNN+ which was a separate subscription service that shut down in April, because CNN’s new owner didn’t like the idea of individual streaming channels.

The CNN app that remains is the one that requires a provider of some sort.
