jumping to next episode before current one is finished playing

Jump to solution

I have had a problem lately where I will be watching an episode but when it gets down to the last 7 minutes, it jumps to the next episode. I then have to go back to the episode and fast forward to watch the final 7 minutes. This happened today on the Hulu channel while watching "Drain the Oceans" and has happened more than once. Any ideas on how to make this stop? If you have any information, please email me. Thank you.

Welcome to the Roku Community, @klondikessusie!

We understand that you're having an issue with an episode in Paramount Plus that ends too early and jumps to the next episode. We'd be happy to help you.

We suggest you do the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Remove the channel: Highlight the channel tile on your home screen and press the Star button to open the options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.
    • Note: If you are removing a subscription channel billed to your Roku account, you must cancel the subscription before you see the Remove Channel option. For help identifying this type of subscription channel, read the detailed article about removing a channel
  2. Restart your Roku device: Restart the device from the settings menu. Go to Settings > System > System restart > Restart
  3. Re-install the channel: After your Roku device restarts, visit the Roku Channel Store and add the channel again.
  4. Clear cache: Navigate the Home > go to the Settings menu, select System > Advanced system settings, Network connection reset.

If the issue persists, please contact Paramount Plus Customer Service directly to follow up and let them know what troubleshooting steps you have already taken.

Let us know if you have any further questions or need more information. Thank you!

Best regards,
Jess

Jump to solution

Hi @tchgrl854,

Greetings from the Roku Community!

We're sorry to hear about the experience. We would be more than happy to look further into this issue. Does this issue only occur when streaming a specific channel or any channels installed on your Roku device? Have you tried restarting your Roku device to see if it helps? We would recommend doing this from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power > System restart (if you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step).

Please keep us posted on what you find out.

All the best,
Chel
