just noticed this for a second time
once before i was sure but it may have happened other times when i was not watching the show closely
channel restarts itself and continues normally which makes the next show start be missed
this time i noticed it and was waiting for the next show which I had wanted to start but it did not
So I had to reboot tv and restart roku from home page to get to the channel without the end of the previous show blocking the start of the new one. by the time i did that I had missed ten minutes of what I had wanted to see.
So what is causing roku to decide on its own to start repeating the previous show from earlier ?
Is there a way I can replay the current show from x minutes earlier if I missed some due to an interruption like a phone call?
ps
it does not restart from the beginning but from several minutes earlier

Hello @whomeqqqq
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community.
Does the issue only occur on a specific channel or across other channels installed on your Roku device? Do you receive an error code or message?
If the problem only happens on one channel, removing then re-installing it may help. To ensure the process is successful, make sure to restart your device before adding the channel back in. We would recommend doing this from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > System restart > Restart.
For detailed instructions, refer to this Support link: How do I resolve channel playback issues?
Please keep us posted!
All the best,
Kariza
I recall it twice in the past. I may have missed some.
It happened on the same channel but that is the one I usually watch.
It happens at random. Does happen very often. Goes away if I switch channels then come back.
AFAIK I was not using the remote but just had roku playing fox from directtvstream playing and remote was on the table.
No error codes or messages. Just starts showing something I recall having seen earlier.
Is there some way to make it do things like that from some combo of buttons on the remote? I can see where at times it could be useful but only if I told it to do that replay.
I have tried the replay button and got it to repeat a few seconds.
What happened in the OP was several minutes.
I am suspecting some latent bug that had some odd combination of events which cause it to happen.
And not the type of bug one would normally try to look for when testing code. And I have had odder bugs back when I was a code tester long long ago.
Thanks for the post.
Should you see the issue happen again, can you please provide us the following information:
-Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button)
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing
With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
happened again tonight and i recall a few more times since i wrote the first post
worse it has several other issues that happen too often
so the real question is WHY IS ROKU SO BUGGY?
is it software or hardware doing these things>
Hi @whomeqqqq,
Thanks for the following up.
We would like to know how to identify and resolve any playback issues.
First, can you please provide us with more specific information about the issue you are experiencing? Which streaming channels are you experiencing this issue on? Are all other streaming channels playing content normally?
With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.
Best regards,
Mary
