Roku YouTube App Pressing Back Goes ALL the way back to subscription list

Jump to solution

This is new behavior and happens seemingly on older youtube videos vs. newer videos on any subscribed channel. Start a video, press back, and instead of going just back to the list of videos on that channel, I'm thrown all the way back to the "All" section of subscribed new videos. Roku YouTube App version with a date code of 05/01.

Hi, @talrejakit!

Thanks for posting in the Roku Community!

We have noticed your post in the Community regarding an issue with your YouTube channel subscription list. No need to worry, we are here to help you sort out the problem and determine its root cause. To begin, we would require more information about when the issue started, whether it persists on multiple channels, and whether your YouTube channel is updated. To check your channel's status, please follow these steps:

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote
  2. Press OK or the right button on the directional pad to access your channel list. The directional pad is plus-shaped and is in the center of your Roku remote.
  3. Using the directional pad, highlight the channel tile you wish to move
  4. Press Star on your remote to open the Options menu
  5. Select Check update

After receiving this information, we will investigate this issue further. In the meantime, please try to fix the issue by uninstalling and reinstalling your YouTube channel. By doing this step listed below:

  • Remove the channel: Highlight the channel tile on your home screen and press the Star button to open the options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.
  • Restart your Roku device: Restart the device from the settings menu. Go to Settings > System > System restart > Restart.
  • Re-install the channel: After your Roku device restarts, visit the Roku Channel Store and add the channel again.

If you need detailed instructions, you can refer to this support page on how to resolve a channel playback issue.
Let us know if you have any other concerns or if you'd like to start a new thread for different issues.

Thanks,

Elmer
