From one day to the next, mom's older Roku stick stopped letting her use her PBS Masterpiece subscription to watch Seaside Hotel. Tella her she needs a "newer Roku device." Really? What Roku devices will allow her to use her PBS Masterpiece subscription?
Amazon announced in emails to Roku owners that, effective November 1, 2021, their Prime Video will no longer support a number of older Roku models.

(The Xs or other letters at the end of the model number are distribution codes and are irrelevant for this issue.)

I have Roku 3900x-Roku Express. I am having same issues of Prime Video not loading any longer. My model is not one listed on the list that was shown of systems effected. So what gives? What kind of service causes a consumer to have to purchase a new unit when their other 8-10 channels continue to work but due to one channel ( which is a major channel) one has to buy ANOTHER Roku when the Roku they have still works netflix, HBOMax, Disney+, hulu, and YouTube? But NOT Prime- Seriously?!?!?!
Thanks for the post.
Try removing the channel from the Roku home screen by navigating to the channel tile, pressing the * key on your remote and choosing 'Remove channel'. Then restart your device from Settings>System>System restart. Once your player starts up again, add the channel back once more.
Does this clear up the issue you are seeing? Please keep us posted what you find out.
Thanks,
Danny
I noticed yesterday that I could access PBS videos but NOT livestream on either of my 2 Rokus(1 is an older stick, the main TV is an actual Roku TV where it's built in, so not affected by Prime Video change). I just hangs and hangs, and if I try to change the station location, which is something I do regularly, it won't allow any input, then shuts itself down and I'm back at the main channel menu. Just now, I suddenly had a new wrinkle: after hanging for a few minutes, it showed a message that I am out of the location availability for PBS livestream"???!!!?
Went to PBS website to log a ticket, and there's a message displayed at the top of the page: PBS Livestream is currently down for Roku users, please do not log a ticket for this issue". Hope they fix it soon!
