Where has the extensive list of available apps disappeared to? Previously, when entering Search, one would get some popular and recommended app suggestions, but also the ability to search all apps. This would include Classic Film Time, Afghan TV, DR and many other interesting and foreign apps. Now, there's only much reduced list of movies, TV shows or popular channels. Why were the options reduced and will they come back?
Thank you for the post, @bassplayerjoe!
As @davidjazz and @JWS9518 mentioned, if you can no longer find a specific app in the Streaming Store, it may no longer be available on the Roku platform. This can happen for several reasons: streaming services may merge and combine apps, or providers may choose to remove their apps entirely. Additionally, we may remove an app if it violates our terms and conditions.
The Streaming Store offers thousands of apps with a wide variety of content. To discover similar content, you can explore featured, recommended, or top free channels or browse apps in different categories.

Some streaming services go out of business, some have merged with others, some are location restricted or restricted as part of a cable/sat package, and some may have gotten into trouble by providing unlicensed content as Roku doesn't allow that and the copyright holders aggressively go after them. So, channels come and go.
This may help. Go to the Streaming Store and scroll down to the line that has APPS and SEARCH.
Click APPS and you'll find the independent channels arranged by general subject. Roku pared down the list for each subject awhile back, removing dead channels and possibly a few still functioning.
The current Streaming Store main page is a convoluted mess and hard to find anything with many channels (apps) duplicated in multiple categories.

Many of the apps that Roku used to list in the Streaming Store are still available. Roku just does not list them. There are over 12,000 apps listed here:

Not all of them still work, but many do.
