Have 3050X model, able to update software to 9.1.0 Build 5009 but still can't recover Prime

Have Roku 3050X model, able to update software to 9.1.0 Build 5009 but still can't launch Amazon Prime Video. Should I purchase new Roku device & what's suitable for over the air old TV?

My Roku s/n # 12G319022897

Thanks

Re: Have 3050X model, able to update software to 9.1.0 Build 5009 but still can't recover Prime

@TedWu-

Amazon announced in emails to Roku owners that, effective November 1, 2021, their Prime Video would no longer support the following older Roku model numbers:

Roku 2 HD/XD/XS models 2050X, 2500X, 2720X, 3000X, 3050X, 3100X
Roku LT models 2400X, 2450X, 2700X
Roku SE model 2710X
Roku Streaming Stick models 3400X, 3420X, 3500X

(The Xs or other letters at the end of the model number are distribution codes and are irrelevant for this issue.)

Your 3050was released over 10 years ago and is also no longer supported by Roku.  It can cannot be updated beyond Roku 9.1 (the current release is 10.5).   Prime video is not the only channel that requires the capabilities of newer Roku models.

All of the current product line output only via HDMI ports as are available on virtually all the TVs being sold today.  If your old TV has no HDMI ports.then the last Roku models to have supported output via composite (yellow, red, white) RCI cables were the Express+ models 3710 and 3910.  Perhaps you can find one of them on eBay or some other source of used equipment..

Otherwise, you might be able to use an HDMI-to-Composite/RCA adapter (be sure it is HDMI-to-RCA, not the other way around), but user experience is mixed with this approach..
