I have an HD Homerun Connect (HDHR5-2US)
, it has been operational for years on my hardwire network.
I can access the HD Homerun from the App on a hardwired TCL Roku TV as well as a WiFi connected Windows 11 computer, a WiFi connected Galaxy S9 Tablet and a WiFi Samsung S8 phone,
The HD Homerun App will not load on my recently purchased (new) hardwired Roku Ultra 2024. I can run other apps (Sling. Paramount +. ROKU etc)
I downloaded the app from the online store. When I attempt to load the HD Homerun app from the ROKU Home screen the screen goes blank (Blue for ~1sec then Black for ~1 sec) and returns to the home screen. This occurs both when I am watching the other channel on another device and when I am not watching a channel.
My other Roku devices do not have this problem
Any suggestions how to troubleshoot this issue?
It doesn't work on my 4850 either while the same version (that appears to have been updated last week) does work on my 4802. It's always had one issue or another over the years, so I rarely use it. I feel like it worked on my 4850 when I set it up at the beginning of the year, but I can't be certain.
You might try reaching out to Silicon Dust to see what they have to say about it:

Edit: I hadn't noticed that my 4850 was still on software version 14.0. Once it updated to 14.1 the app started working.
I've had an ongoing issue for a couple weeks affecting only one Roku device, a TCL RokuTV. The app attempts to launch but fails to load after the HDHomeRun splash page, channel crashes back to the Roku Home page.
Checked for available Roku OS update none available (running 14.0), checked for a HDHomeRun app update none available, tried a Roku [System Restart] no joy, tried removing HDHomeRun app then reinstall no joy, tried Roku factory reset everything no joy.
For me the issue is limited to this one Roku device, HDHomeRun app is working fine on all my other Roku devices including one different model TCL Roku. I am able to play the live channel streams using [Roku | Media Player] on this television.

I think your Roku software version is the problem. TVs always get updates after other Roku devices, but before my Ultra 4850 updated to v14.1 the app crashed on launch. You may not have an update available, but check for a "Software update" under Settings->System. It looks to me like Silicon Dust may have screwed up and used some feature that's only available in the v14.1 update without specifying that when they updated their app.

Thanks,
I just verified I am on version 14.1

I reached out to Silicondust last night, I have not heard back.
I will update my posts with the information you provided,,

I stand corrected.
After verifying ROKU version 14.1 I recycled power on the Ultra, the HD Homerun app is now working.
Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your thoughts about this being a RokuOS issue, as mentioned in my OP I did check for a RokuOS update but none available.
In fact I have been checking for a RokuOS update on this TCL RokuTV and an HDHomeRun app update every weekday since the issue began a couple weeks ago or so.
It is encouraging that when RokuOS 14.1 rolls down to this TCL RokuTV it'll likely resolve the issue. All my other Roku devices including a different model TCL RokuTV don't experience the issue. I checked which version of RokuOS they're on, sure enough those devices are on 14.1.
Evidently I just need to wait until this TCL RokuTV finally sees the RokuOS update. I'm marking your post as a solution even though the issue continues until RokuOS 14.1 graces this television.
Hi @renojim, Thank you for the update!
It’s great news that the issue has been resolved after restarting your Roku Device! Thanks so much for sharing your experience—it’ll really help others in the community dealing with similar challenges. We’re excited that you can now enjoy streaming with the HD Homerun app!
Happy Streaming!

Thanks for sharing details about your Roku HD HomeRun app! Just a heads-up: you can easily update your app and Roku device manually by following the steps below.
Hope this helps!

@RokuJharra-Q Apologies if I wasn't clear but I'm afraid you've completely misunderstood almost everything I've posted in this thread. It's looking like two separate HDHomeRun issues were merged into one thread. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Restarting device did not resolve the issue and the update procedure is only applicable if the device see's a RokuOS update. Sadly this TCL RokuTV does not see the RokuOS update yet, it thinks that v14.0.4 b12221 is current.
It could be beneficial if there was a secret screen option that forces the TV to find and install RokuOS update. [Home 5x > Fwd 3x > Rwd 2x] takes me to Secret Screen with option to Update software but alas this secret screen option to update doesn't force it to even see the update either.
This specific television had an issue installing the last RokuOS update. I had another thread about that, it would see the previous update but would fail on the install every time. What resolved that was doing a factory reset on the TCL RokuTV. I'm beginning to think the reason that update wouldn't apply is perhaps the RokuOS could tell that HDHomeRun was incompatible and refused the update.
Is there a RokuOS update available to download to a USB stick for this television that could then facilitate an update to v14.1 from USB port on the TCL RokuTV?
I only marked this as resolved because it appears the HDHomeRun crash issue will resolve itself once this television is able to see and take the RokuOS v14.1 update.
@RokuJharra-Q appears to be on the mark, if only the RokuOS v14.1 could be seen and installed.
