HBO will not start. Goes to a black screen after HBO splash screen.

HBO max suddenly (2 weeks ago+/-) opens to the HBO splash screen then never goes to the "who's watching" screen. It just gies solid bkack and will not do anything else. Roku Ultra works fine for all other apps. HBO works on my phone but not my Roku Ultra. I have uninstalled,restarted,reinstalled, power cycled? Etc. Releatedly to no avail. Please advise. Is this a roku or hbo issue?

The channel developer themselves maintains channels on Roku. We suggest reaching out to HBO Max's customer support team to report the issue and get help. There's likely an issue within that specific channel that needs to be addressed with an update from them.

Just to be sure, when reinstalling a channel app, the ORDER you do things is important.

After removing a channel, best practice is to restart** your Roku to clear its memory cache before reinstalling the channel. Without the restart you may not get a clean reinstall.

Depending on your Roku model and Roku version number you'll find the System restart option under either Settings > System > Power or under Settings > System. If you don't have sufficient control to use the menus, or if it is just more convenient, you can also restart by pulling the power plug for a short while, then plugging it back in.

**On a Roku TV with "Fast Start" enabled, turning the TV off/on only puts you in/out of a low power standby state, it does NOT give you a complete restart. Use the methods above.
