Found local news channels and now lost them!

brand new streaming device and in searching through all the channels we found most of our local TV news stations. We were able to pick from several on screen that were nearby.

But the next day, we are unable to locate anything local. We have looked everywhere and All we can find are major cities around the US. How in the world did we find our small local stations before??

Re: Found local news channels and now lost them!

Hello! @Russellsthree,

A friendly welcome from the Roku Community!

We appreciate you reaching out to us. We're pleased to assist.

Depending on where you live, you may be able to receive free “over-the-air” TV broadcasts from nearby TV stations using an HDTV antenna. This is an easy way to watch TV on your Roku TV system if you know how to connect. You can refer to Antenna Web for more information on accessing “over-the-air” TV in your area and finding and using an HDTV antenna.

To access “over-the-air” broadcast television, the HDTV antenna must be connected to the live TV input of your TV.

  1. Connect the coaxial cable from your HDTV antenna to the “Ant/Cable In” connector on the back of your TV.
  2. Press Home on your Roku remote.
  3. Select Live TV
  4. Follow the instructions on the TV screen to complete the setup.

If Live TV is missing, you can add it by going to Settings > TV inputs > Live TV > Set up input.

For additional help and detailed instructions, read the article about using Live TV Channel Guide to find TV listings.

Thanks,

Arjiemar

Re: Found local news channels and now lost them!

tha k you foe the response. We do already have an HDTV antenna and when using the TV (not the RoKu streaming device), we can access several stations. The reception is not the greatest however.

When we hooked up and started using our ROKU device, we happened upon those exact same stations through ROKU. The next day we are unable to locate them. Instead we are being offered stations for major cities in different states. We go to Live TV on the device and are not offered our local live news like we were a few days ago. What would cause this? Or do we go to a different spot to find them?

In our settings, there is a place to I out zip code and we have done so many times but that has had no affect.

Any advise on where to look on ROKU for what we found once?
