Deleting and adding a channel

I have a Roku player given to me by a family member.  I want to change the HBOMax channel from his account to my account.  When I delete the channel and add it back, I am not asked to provide my HBOMax account information.  The previous account data is reassociated with the added channel.  How do I add HBOMax from scratch?

Try logging out of the HBO Max channel/app using the Settings(gear) icon and then sign back in using your HBO Max credentials.
