I just signed up to use the Spectrum TV App to watch tv through my ROKU service. My Roku remote has no numbers or voice capability to change the channels during viewing as my previous cable/satellite services did. My research on this has led me to believe I can upgrade to a ROKU remote with a mic button on it to, for instance, change the channel from the MLB Network to TCM, instead of the time consuming up and down arrows. Is this true? If so, will any ROKU remote with a mic button work?
The two available Roku Remotes with microphones for entering voice commands are the Voice Remote ($20) and Voice Remote Pro ($30). They are point-anywhere remotes that control via WiFi and must be paired with the Roku to be controlled. Voice Remotes will work with all Roku TVs and all Roku streaming devices from the last several years. I can tell my Voice Remote to go straight to a channel app, like 'load Netflix' or 'go to TCM'.
Or when in a channel that provides access to a bunch of live streaming channels, like Live TV on The Roku Channel, I can tell it to 'go to 200' or 'tune sci-fi' and the Roku will go straight to that channel.
