The problem is caused by the latest Hulu app update (6.48.1) on some Roku devices.

Hulu is aware of the problem and is working on a fix.  There is no ETA - later today is possible, though Monday is most likely.

You should contact Hulu and report it, and receive an account credit:

Just watched an entire episode of a show on discovery plus and was going to catch up on a new episode of something on Hulu and started having this issue. Already tried removing app, restarting system, and adding channel back and it returned to the home screen faster than it was before I did this. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!

TNT for about 5 weeks at least. Tried all the suggested remedies and nothing helps.

Hi, I have 2 streaming sticks that over the last week have been having this problem. I can stream for a few minutes and then it drops back to the home page. happening on multiple apps. One device is just a few months old, the other was bought a week ago. I have provided details below for the latest incident. I am unable to watch anything at the moment. Are you able to help please?

Ive tried every suggestion that’s been posted for the past month. I had not experienced any issues with my device until last nite. I watched a whole movie before this starting happening. Moved to my bedroom, worked all night and now this morning its throwing the same fit as my living room device. I swear they’re in cohoots. Good Connection unplug device and or tv from power source system restart from menu system restart from reset button on back of device To no avail. Please get this issue resolved. All I wanted a was a Sunday of binge watching and coffee and now I’m stuck to doing it on my phone. Unhappy Roku costumer

Could you be more explicit about what workaround/solution worked for you, and for what app(s)?

This recommendation worked perfecttly for me:

 

We would first recommend trying removing the channels from the Roku home screen by navigating to the channel tile, pressing the * key on your remote and choosing 'Remove channel'. Then restart your device from Settings>System>System restart. Once your player starts up again, add the channels back once more.

Same thing keeps happening to us. On any of the devices we have external Roku players it will not load Hulu. It will load fine on the smart TV but not on the ones with external devices. We have tried removing the channel and reinstalling it, we have also tired to return to factory setting on the Roku player with no luck. Model 4230x-roku3 Serial 6325AR040504 Please assist??
