We have an Express device and are experiencing an issue where an App shuts down after 4-5 hours of continuous use.
Have you turned off the bandwidth saver?

If so, and it still shuts off, then it's probably the app that is doing that.
Yes, the Data saver is turned off. We have contacted the company that created and hosts the App. They have looked into it and believe that it is a Roku issue. I was informed that the Roku Streaming Stick works fine. The problem seems to be with the Express devices and Onn Roku TV.
It could be helpful to share the name of the app you experience shutting down after four hours of use. 😉
We are a local Public Access channel. It is our app CAMErie.
It's wonderful that your Public Access TV [Community Access Media | Erie] is available on a streaming platform.
The "CAMErie" app isn't showing up in my Roku app search. Was hoping to install the app and help test the app timeout on the Roku Express we've kept around just for connecting to CRT televisions when traveling.
Try searching CAM Erie PA
Found it and installed the app, will be able to test it on our old Roku Express unit this evening.
Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be any settings available within the app itself, it's only on Version 1.0 Build 0 so it looks like an early development app.
I'm not sure if there has been any updates. I know they are currently working on one since we started having this issue.
Thanks for letting us know about the issue! If it's only happening with a specific app or channel and troubleshooting steps have already been attempted, we recommend contacting the app developer for help.
It's also important to note that most Roku channels are managed directly by the channel provider.
Appreciate your understanding.
Cheers,
The Roku Community Team
