Canceling subscription to discovery+problems

I installed a roku streaming stick to my TV. Unknown to me, when I purchased Discovery+from my setup, I was actually using my roommate's account. He has since passed away. I no longer need Discovery and would like to cancel it. How do I go about doing this?

We understand that you want to cancel your subscription, and we're sorry for your loss. No worries, we're here to provide some steps you can try.

In this case, you may try canceling the subscription through your streaming device.

Here's how:

  1. Press the Home  button  on your Roku remote.
  2. From the Home screen, use the arrow buttons on your remote to hover over and highlight the app whose subscription you want to cancel.
  3. Press the Star button  on your remote.
  4. Select Manage Subscription to view the renewal date and access additional options. If you don't see this option, your subscription is not managed through Roku.
  5. To cancel a subscription, select Turn off auto-renew. Your subscription will now only be active until the end of its billing cycle.
