OS 15.1.4 query/media-player Expired
Hello Roku Community Team After my Roku Ultra device upgraded its system to OS v15.1.4 build 1500, the ECP command for querying media playback information (query/media-player) no longer returns playback progress 、duration and other related information. Is this command being deprecated, or will there be a new command to replace it? Below is the content of the official API documentation:41Views0likes2CommentsSoftware update rollback option
How can I roll back to the original OS of our Roku TV? Each "update" that comes out makes the TV more and more frustrating to use and it is so unresponsive now. Very very very frustrating when All I want to do is go to the OTA Antenna stations but I have to sit and wait for all the other "features" to load, and then the controls lag making wrong selections increasingly common. I'm never going to buy a Roku TV again if this is what the experience is for all of them. Seems this is the case for all "smart" home products these days.243Views2likes13CommentsRoku Premiere turns TV back on after latest update
My Roku Premiere started turning the tv back on, seems like it shuts off at first when turn the tv off but then after a minute or so it comes back on and causes the tv to turn back on. It has been doing it for a few days now. I looked at settings/updates etc. seems it updated on 10/28/2025 to software version 15.0.4 Anyone else experiencing this?148Views1like8CommentsTCL Roku TV Blank OTA TV
TCL Roku TV model 65R625 All OTA channels give a black screen with no sound. I have tried restarting the TV. I've tried resetting the TV by unplugging and pressing power for 30 seconds. I've also successfully rescanned for channels where it was able to find all the broadcast channels, but still black screens. This has been an issue since the last update of 11/6/25 to version 15.1.4.70Views1like6CommentsMiracast lag after update to OS 15.0.4
I'm running Windows 11 and my TV is Hisense Model 7Series -43. After the TV updated to OS 15.0.4, when I connect to it wirelessly (using Miracast) the name of the connection changed to rcast-[computer] when it had just been [computer], and it prompted me to allow the connection for the first time since I initially set it up. It took several minutes to finish the connection, and afterwards it was very pixelated and laggy. Sound is fine, but the picture quality is unwatchable. Nothing has changed on my computer (I have all system updates turned off by setting the network to "metered connection", so I know Microsoft didn't sneak anything in). My network speed is 612mb down, 495mb up, so I know it's not a slow connection. Other apps, including Plex (media server to TV) are working normally. It's only the direct stream from Windows 11 that doesn't work.62Views1like4CommentsInsignia Roku TV freezes after required updates
Our Insignia Roku TV required a software update, which we accepted. The screen said finalizing update then went black and the blue light started flashing. After a couple hours, we did a soft reset on the TV. It again automatically started updates, then black screen and flashing blue light. We have since also tried using a wire to connect to internet, factory reset and another soft reset. Each time the update causes the TV to go black and a blue light flashes. Please help!Solved146Views1like11CommentsUnable to access app after an Update
Hello everyone, I'm experiencing the same issue, but it's affecting all of my streaming apps—including the Roku Soundbar apps themselves. After a recent software update, which took longer than expected, my home screen changed significantly. Now, I only see the following options: Home, Search, Streaming Apps, and Settings. I have a one-year-old child and often use the soundbar for educational purposes, so this disruption has been particularly inconvenient. Since the update, I feel completely locked out of my soundbar, and it's frustrating that there's no clear support available. I've been in contact with Roku via email and live chat on their website, but I haven't been able to find a phone number to speak with someone directly. If anyone has experienced this or knows how to resolve it, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you 🙏🏾24Views2likes1CommentVoice command on the Roku remote stopped working after the update.
So this is on my ultra voice remote with the AB buttons. After the recent update I noticed it stopped working. It keeps telling me it can't hear me when I hold down the voice button. I tried resetting and pairing it with different rokus in the house and it's still giving me trouble. So far the remote with the stick that has voice works and I haven't tried the other ultra. I'll update when I see if that's having problems or not. Yes I followed all the instructions to reboot the Roku and repair the remote.141Views1like8CommentsRoku TV freezing and apps crashing after update
I have a 40" 2025 Roku Select Series TV. After the updates on 10/28, it is constantly freezing up and exiting apps. I have to unplug the TV to clear it and it will work for 5-10 minutes and then start the cycle again. It started with the Plex app and last night it was doing it with Amazon as well. It was working fine before. I have another Roku TV in the living room and it is working fine, no issues. Any way to roll updates back?238Views1like9CommentsRoku TV screen saver loses paused live TV
Looks like a bug in the latest software update loaded earlier this month. It used to be that the Roku screen saver would not come on when live TV was paused. Now it does, and when the screen saver comes on you lose the paused content. This is a real annoyance. You can pause live TV for up to 90 minutes but the screen saver comes on well before that. We have two Roku TVs (WalMart "Onn" 32" sets) and it's the same problem on both. I checked settings and did not see a way to disable the screen saver or to even set the timeout to accommodate live TV pause. Is there no way to work around this problem? Or, do we just have to hope it's fixed in the next software update? (Whenever that might be.)214Views1like17Comments
