Backdrops is not launching after streaming on Disney+
This is a bit of a grey area as to where to post the issue. Backdrops is set to automatically launch after 30 minutes and seems to work fine except when I stream on Disney+. At night while sleeping I will stream Star Wars Clone Wars episodes on Disney+ the entire night. After so many episodes, Disney+ will stop automatically playing the next episode. I assume this is a built-in operation through their service to save bandwidth or something or other. Anyway, when this occurs and the Roku/Disney+ are idle the Roku screensaver will launch after a couple of minutes but will never launch Backdrops. Is this because Disney+ prevents Backdrops from launching, meaning Backdrops will only launch from the Roku Home Screen and not if some other service has been streaming? Is Disney+ behaving as expected as I have described it? I do have all relevant Roku device settings for saving bandwidth and idling turned off.294Views0likes3CommentsBluetooth feature available for Roku Select Series 4K 2025 TV?

I have the ultra lt from years past and on my home screen i select the tips and tricks icon that is installed by default. so i clicked on that and then scrolled the different tip options till i came to a tip that says there is a menu called tv inputs under settings on your roku stick. that roku video shows there guy scrolling through the sticks settings and finding the inputs... and setting up this to change inputs to his pc or gameox. he sets it up so you click on a home screen icon to select tv inputs. but doesnt show it working by buttons on his remote. on my roku ultra that setting is not available. so i thought about updating my stick but then found an online video saying tv input changing is only available on roku tvs. i dont know why this tip is on mu roku stick since he says hes doing this on a roku tv so i do ask is this option available on newer sticks. and why does the official roku help video on my home screen show the guy using a typical roku remote to set up tv input swithching. the video was very graphic showing this done but if that option is available on his stick he doesnt mention the stick model. the help video should be seen on any roku home screen, after selecting the tips and tricks shortcut that then offers several help videos.289Views0likes1Commentin literal desperate need of help adjusting brightness and/or menu/input from phone or via remote

We have a Roku device with Guest Mode set in a vacation home. We login to YouTube TV, but it doesn't remove our credentials when at the end date. When we return on a later trip, it still has our credentials available for anyone to use our YouTube TV account. But it we use a specific sequence, it does ask for our credentials. 1) Powered Roku on. 2) It asked for end date of Guest Mode. 3) Added YouTube TV to channel list. 4) We were automatically logged in to YouTube TV. 5) Navigated to home menu. YouTube TV was now gone from the app list. 6) Add a random channel. It stayed on the channel list. 7) Added YouTube TV to channel list. It now stayed on the list. 8 ) Selected YouTube TV. Now it asked for our credentials. This also happened with the Prime account. It may happen with others, but those were the only one we had logged into on our last visit. There is obviously a bug in the Roku app. It should drop our credentials at the end of the Guest time. And it should not require the odd sequence above.811Views0likes4CommentsClosed Captions keep moving around the screen.
I keep trying to watch TV shows on my Roku Express 4K+, but the closed captions keep moving around the screen according to who is talking. It's like trying to play whack-a-mole with my vision. If there are multiple people, and the conversation is fast, there is no way to anticipate where the CC will show up, and by the time my eyes get there, it's gone and I try to move to the next one, and on and on. Try watching an episode of Friends this way, and it will drive you insane. I lose most of the conversation, because it's impossible to find the text in time, not to mention the lost time actually looking at the scene to see what's going on. It's like running a f*cking marathon with my eyes, and after one TV show I'm completely exhausted. Is there a way to stop this closed caption insanity? I'm watching the shows on Peacock, Paramount+, MAX, and Hallmark+ on the Roku Channel.1KViews0likes8Comments[OS 13] Automatic exit Guest Mode, bad firmware update.
We have three Rokus in our Airbnb. All three have had their Guest Modes stop working. Now when the device is turned on, the Welcome screen is no longer displayed. Instead, the TV opens to a guest mode "menu" with pretty much nothing in it. (https://ibb.co/9gN3W0X) When you select the "Guest Options" menu item, you see that "You'll be automatically signed out: Dec 31 at 7:00 pm". (https://ibb.co/NjjDKZj) That's obviously not right, so I selected "Sign out and clear info" but then receive a message saying "Oops... There was a problem connecting to the server. Please try again later." (https://ibb.co/9gM4CWF) I have toggled Guest Mode on and off and restarted the Rokus but the problem persists. I've also factory reset all three devices. The problem subsided for a day or so and is now back again. I'm guessing the devices received a firmware update towards the end of August that killed Guest Mode since they all started the same behavior around that timeframe. Is anyone else seeing these problems?Solved5KViews4likes57CommentsCaptions Text Size - We need Extra Medium
There have been many complaints about caption styling options over years and I've made my peace with Serif font and the even worse san serif font. But I'm here to talk about text size. First of all Small & Extra Small are completely useless, not sure anyone bothers using those, please speak up if you do. Large can work for small sentences but usually anything more than 6 words is stretched across the TV screen to the point I have to physically turn my head to read the full dialogue, which makes Extra Large also useless. Which leaves us with Medium text size, it's readable and handles heavy dialogue well enough, but you always wish it was a bit larger. Roku team, it took you years to add Bright White to the captions options, now it's time to add Extra Medium. 1-2 pts larger is all I'm asking for here, and honestly just copy Netflix's styling already. They have the right size and it's bold. Give use a Bold effect too. Rant over.Solved324Views0likes1Comment
