Help help help.. Whats going on with the roku, my devices are not working like they use to..
Seems like the last couple months my roku devices have slowly messing up here and there, but usually able to resolve issue. The last month my roku TV, camera etc have lost features Biggest issue is the HDCP just popped up said devices not compatible, took every step out there to factory reset new hdmi cables moving to different ports etc.. Nothing has worked.. COULD IT dang is my tv already outdated. It's not 2 years old but nowadays that's old. If out of nowhere my tv is out of data etc that's not cool I'm not made of money I can't just go buy it a new TV because a update, platform change etc and shuts down TVs so it seems like having to buy a new TV every year is somehow okay or the norm.. Is there issues, updates, something going on to basically turn my smart devices stupid... Plus if I watch everything through my roku TV wifi streaming without extra/external device. I do have stick and tried going through speakers but same message not compatible for HDCP.. I wouldn't be frustrated if this was on and off thing but not even a month and my shows that HDCP that's I've watched no problem, now can not watch them. and don't have to use an hdmi what's that mean. I love any help OTHER THAN THE SAME STEPS OVER AND OVER.. I'd sure appreciate actually help not steps38Views0likes0CommentsIntermittently Losing Internet Connection
I have 2 Roku devices and a Roku tv. The Roku Express 4K Model 3940X started losing the internet connection several days ago. Everything else stays connected (Roku tv, Roku 3900X, security system). First time it happened, I tried the reconnect process several times and that didn't work so I unplugged Roku, waited a minute or two then plugged it back in and it booted up and connected to internet just fine. Went through same process the next time. Last couple times it has dropped out I just do the unplug, wait, reconnect process. It has worked every time. This Roku sits about 3' away from the router so I don't think that's an issue. It's getting very aggravating, so I need to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.Solved21KViews1like32CommentsTCL Roku TVs not connected to wifi
I have two TCL Roku TVs with the same problem. Suddenly, they won't stay connected to my wifi network. All other devices on the network are fine. I have done the following troubleshooting steps: unplugged and restarted modem and both tvs Did system restart on both tvs reset network connection On one of the tvs, I even did the factory reset I have been able to reconnect, but only temporarily. The fact that it happening on two different TCL Roku tvs is puzzling to me. All other devices are working fine with wifi. Any suggestions are much appreciated.150Views0likes8CommentsRoku Stick Hotel Logo
I've traveled with Roku sticks for well over 10 years and have the same issue while travelling, randomly. Roku must add a way to force the Hotel/Dorm prompt, like the Fire Stick does. Some hotel networks do not force it. Even though it states it's connected to the internet, none of the apps work. Again, on those ad-hoc hotel networks, it never prompts for login. I end up having to travel with a firestick as a contingency. It's kind of ridiculous that this has never been resolved in well over 10 years.Solved45Views0likes1CommentUnable to connect Roku to my Wifi
I started off using a Roku Express, I have my wifi setup to use WPA3 Personal and only to use the 5ghz connection and the SSID hidden. After fiddling with my Wifi settings, I tried changing to wpa2 and unhiding the ssid. My router has already been restarted and factory reset. The Roku could not even find the ssid when i unhid it, but other devices in my house could. Then I found out the Express might not work with wpa3 and 5ghz. I read that the Roku Ultra 2024 model did, so I went out and bought one. But I am still having issues connecting it to my wifi with settings set to WPA3 Personal, 5ghz only, and SSID Hidden. are there any other settings on a router that might affect a Roku's ability to connect to wifi?240Views0likes6CommentsRoku not taking ip address
I recently moved and trying to get into my non-roku tv - can do it as a guest - but not as myself because even though the device recognises me, it's not happy with the ip address where I'm living, and don't know what it was before. Can anyone advise?57Views0likes3CommentsRoku TV stops working when the internet goes down
I have terrible internet service so I use the media player app with a local nas (dlna) to watch videos. When my internet goes down, recently so does my media player, it won't play any videos and it shows "not connected". My wireless and local lan is all functional. I can open a media player on desktop computer, laptop, table, phone on the local lan and play videos the same way my roku tv should. My wireless access point and nas are connected to a switch, not modem. I can unplug my modem and local lan devices are all connected and working. If my internet connection is not working, the roku tv wireless stops working. How do I fix this? Thanks.Solved160Views0likes8Comments
