Suggestion for USB-C Audio Integration on ROKU Voice Remote Pro (Second Edition)

I would like to propose that ROKU consider integrating support for private listening via the USB-C charging port on the Voice Remote Pro (Second Edition), as well as future generations of the ROKU Remote(s). By enabling functionality for USB-C headphones or a USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adapter (similar to what many modern smartphones offer), ROKU could provide an alternative to the previously included headphone jack. This feature would: 1. **Restore Private Listening for Wired Headphone Users**: Many users prefer the simplicity of wired headphones for uninterrupted audio, coupling convenience with reliability. 2. **Maximize Device Utility**: Utilizing the USB-C port for more than just charging increases the value of the product, giving users more reasons to choose ROKU's Voice Remote Pro over competitors' solutions. 3. **Reduce Environmental Impact**: Some users might already own USB-C headphones or adapters from other devices, eliminating the need to purchase additional accessories or rely solely on wireless headphones. 4. **Appeal to a Broader User Base**: While ROKU’s wireless private listening through the mobile app and Bluetooth works well, this addition would also cater to users who prefer the simplicity and audio quality of a wired solution/dislike using the app. ### Implementation Consideration To implement this suggestion, ROKU could: - Enable USB-C audio output through firmware updates. - Sell or partner with third-party accessory makers to provide ROKU-branded USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adapters for users who wish to use their existing wired headphones, as well as ROKU branded wired headphones. - Clearly communicate in product specifications and marketing materials that the Voice Remote Pro supports USB-C audio functionality. ### Why This Matters Private listening is one of the standout features that makes ROKU's remotes and streaming experience unique. Many users still appreciate and rely on this functionality for use cases like watching late-night TV without disturbing others. Bringing back a wired option via USB-C would show ROKU’s commitment to listening to its user base and enhancing accessibility for all. ### Closing Thoughts Thank you for the time and effort your team puts into continuously improving ROKU’s devices and user experience. I personally believe that this suggestion could rekindle the enthusiasm of users who miss the headphone jack while also modernizing the remote to align with the growing trend of USB-C audio solutions.

Roku please add a Shuffle and Repeat buttons for your next remote for music apps such as Spotify

Id really appreciate if there were repeat and shuffle buttons on the next model remote for Roku Ultra. This would allow me to change the shuffle or repeat 🔁 🔀 state just by pressing remote buttons. Maybe put a white light above the buttons showing what state of repeat is currently used. And to see wether Shuffle is currently ON or OFF just by looking at a white light above the remote button. Spotify has repeat for current playlist/album or repeat current song. Or Shuffle. The Live button and streaming service buttons are useless to me and just ads. I never use those and they add unnecessary clutter to the remote. Roku, please instead add usual functionality buttons to the remote such as repeat, shuffle. Remove the Live and Streaming services buttons which are basically ads, because the Streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+ paid you to have a permanent place on the remote.

The newest Roku Ultra. Can I completely disable and deactivate the artificial intelligence?

With no surprise, the newest model of Roku Ultra, Model 4850R, has A.I., or artificial intelligence/machine learning, which many knows will always be a risk for sentient duality technology invasive actions of the A.I., and privacy and data issues. We already see that happening. I like the faster processor and other updated features, but am disappointed to see the implementation of A.I. I want to disable all A.I./machine learning. Please make sure there is a guaranteed option to do just that, and NOTHING is running in the background with A.I. if I do so.

Onn Roku changing channels and turning on and off by itself HELP

Since Nov 7th 2024 I have had issues with my Onn Roku tv turning on and off by itself , changing channels and starting my ps4 and switch ( which I've since unplugged) . I cannot watch anything on it because it changes the input , changes the channel or turns off , Restarts and tries to turn on my ps4 by going to the port for it. I have followed every tip on here and even factory reset my tv twice - even replaced the remote. But it's still doing it. Please help

Roku ultra 4670rw no interference menu option

I have 4 Roku Ultras and they're signals using WIFI Direct are interfering with my network. I went to the hidden menu but there is not an interference menu option present and not one on the face. If I try to DISABLE Wifi Connect through the advanced settings the ROKU says basically I should get bent. What are my options at this point other than simply going out and trying to find a new option bsecause I've searched ROKU support and they have no support responses on this topic that were useful. I guess the only other option would be to go into the device physically and disconnect the antennae but that seems extreme. And I can't find an option to choose what channel to use from the Roku device to change the signal being used. It's using the same 5ghz channel as the wifi access point sitting next to the device and all of the units are causing huge amounts of congestion issues on the network. For those that gave up can you point me to other streaming set top boxes I might look at?
