Roku Streaming Stick Plus, mp4 with embedded Subtitles not working
I have recived the new Roku® Streaming Stick™ Plus 2025 – 4K I wanted it for an older LG tv in the spare room, it is all working, but slow i wanted to use the stick for streaming from my server MP4 files with embedded SRT subtitles All my TVs will play these files, all my Google streamers play these files, no problem The setup of the Roku stick was easy, quality of the remote felt good So I installed the Roku media player, found my servers no problem, I was quite impressed Then No matter what I tried, subtitles would not show; it seemed to know they were there, I could see it under accessibility, closed caption, single file. There are no subtitles for at all, only closed caption I don't know if this matters I have read what I could find on the subject seems a common problem with Roku products I am hard of hearing, so completely useless to me Any help?166Views1like17CommentsRoku cannot display italic font or emojis
I own a 2024 Roku Ultra and noticed for a long time that the whole OS cannot display emojis in any app. I noticed this with my Spotify and YouTube playlists, for example. And today I finally had enough of this issue, and wanted to report it. As you can see in the following photos Roku is unable to display emojis properly: My NVIDIA Shield Pro has no problem displaying emojis properly. See following photos using the Spotify app on my NVIDIA Shield Pro: < replacement for Karma in italic font) Please don’t even start asking for the unnecessary OS version and this and that. It’s irrelevant and my system is up to date. Check this on YOUR end to confirm. The same is happening with the YouTube app and any other app. Roku is unable to display italic font and emojis properly, using colors and the actual emojis. It’s possible that it also can’t display other fonts. Please FIX THIS.85Views1like2CommentsStuck on "Select your language" screen
I haven't used my Roku in a while. But I just plugged it in, and it's light was blinking (white light) I tried to use my remote, and it wouldn't work, and the Roku app won't work since the Roku isn't connected to the wifi. I've tried to repair it several times and it's not working, I even complete reset my Roku device, but that didn't help and now I'm c with a remote that won't connect to the device. My Roku has been in use and running fine for several days. Now, the go.roku.com/lowpower warning pops up. The system constantly locks up and the screen show "not connected" in the top right and the remote is unresponsive. It is plugged into the Roku Streaming Stick with the factory USB-C wire AND I added a new USB Power supply to the wall rather than plugging it into the TV. Despite this effort, the Red light keeps flashing on the Roku Stick. Hi there. I have a new Roku Express 4K+. I am able to watch streams from various providers. However, every so often the sound cuts out. It is happening across multiple streaming providers, so the problem is not related to a particular streaming service. I had seen on a board that I should try changing my audio from auto to stereo, but doing so did not solve the problem. I have seen similar posts from other people, but I couldn't find a way to add a message to an existing post - my apologies for creating a new post. I don't know if there is a problem with my device and I need to exchange it for another one, if this is a common, unresolved problem with Roku devices, or if there is a configuration setting I need to change. Can you please advise how I should proceed? Thanks!Solved11KViews1like3Comments
