Roku remote corrosion (all Roku’s, multiple years)
I have 5 Roku devices. Some are years old, the newest is about a year old. The remote of the newest device has been slower and slower, so I opened the back to look at the batteries, there is clearly white corrosion on them. This has happened to every Roku remote I have had for the devices they originally came with. I’ve seen posts about similar issues, Roku needs to fix this way too often problem. Anyone have actual solutions besides putting new batteries in- like Roku providing you with solutions or anything by the company??1.3KViews1like5CommentsRoku remote pro (2nd edition) not voice command not working
Recently bought the Roku voice remote pro this is the one that has the little switch on the side where you can turn the voice on or off and is also rechargeable. Problem is the voice feature of this remote has completely stopped working this after working for several weeks after I first bought it. I've read several solutions presented here in the community and have tried all turning off the TV, holding down the buttons to reset the remote pairing remote etc... None of these solutions have worked. The remote itself works as it should manually. No problems there. Voice just will not work after I've done a reset a re-pairing It might work once. Then ask for time or channel and nothing when I hold down the mic button I get a little thing on the bottom of the TV that says press and hold the button while you speak even though I'm doing that.3.3KViews1like20CommentsRoku remote concern
Every 6 months my remote goes bad. Volume goes nuts, or it acts like it needs new batteries, but new batteries don't help. I would prefer to pay a small fee each month and have reliable remotes. As big as Roku has become, you think they would find a way to produce a reliable remote. But plan on it, if you are tied into Roku, you will find yourself without a remote every 6 months. Just read remedy comment. Haven't tried that and will. But every other remote I have, I've had for years. They don't require that level of care. They just work.789Views1like1CommentRoku Voice Remote Not Charging
Our Roku Voice remote worked brilliantly for a while, but now will not charge above 8 - 10%, and quickly loses its charge after that. We had the same issue with our last Roku Voice remote so bought this one because we didn't know what to do to fix it - so this is our 2nd one with the same problem. We really can't buy another one again. We've tried different outlets and are using the charging cable that came with the remote. We have cleaned out the port, though it looks clean. Please help! Any suggestions to fix the problem or a way to get a replacement would be most helpful. The device we are using with the remote is: TCL model 43S455 Hardware ID: G133X Serial number: X012001CVPS2 Software version 12.5.5 - build 4174-CG Device ID S0JNH2DCVPS2 Thank you!Solved2.5KViews1like13CommentsDirectional Pad button issues
I purcahsed a roku streaming stick in July of 2023, and by September the right directional pad became hard to press and then stopped working altogether, while the rest of remote was fine Bought a new one and about a week after having it the down arrow started to do the same thing. Now you have to push down hard and hold it to get it to work. All the other buttons work fine and we use our living room remote way more and haven't had this problem. I'm not seeing a warranty and don't want to waste money buying another if it's just going to do the same thing, so I use the app on my phone but shouldn't have to if the oroduct would last longer than 2 months at a time.5.1KViews1like25CommentsRoku Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition) feature
I was very interested in the new Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition) until I looked closer. You added the backlit and USB-C, but, and here is the deal killer, you took away one of the customizable quick launch buttons and gave us the Guide or Live TV button. That was a step backwards. Now, if that Guide button is actually a customizable quick launch button in disguise then please let me know. I want the same buttons as the 1st edition Pro remote but with backlit and USB-C. Hopefully, one day, you will release a backlit remote, USB-C rechargable and 4 customizable quick launch. I get that you have preprogrammed ones to help keep the pricing down but you took away a valuable button. Hopefully the 3rd edition will hit it out of the park.Solved1.5KViews1like1Comment
