    Roku Remote Tool app update

    I'd been running into WinGet reporting that the current version of the desktop Roku RemoteTool app as being 4.1.2 and showing an update to version 4.1.2.1385, yet after WinGet downloads and installs the update, the next time WinGet is run, it again reports the app as being version 4.1.2 with the 4.1.2.1385 version available as an update and again downloads the app and installs it, only to still show the installed version as 4.1.2 with 4.1.2.1385 available. WinGet apparently gets it's version info from the registry value of Display Version (in my case on a Windows 11 Pro version at HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-3877097282-1900542303-776228544-1001\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\roku_remote_tool\DisplayVersion) Of course it will likely be at a different USER folder for you, but otherwise basically the same. Edit the value there for roku_remote_tool\DisplayVersion to change from 4.1.2 to 4.1.2.1385. As the software ages and does get an upgrade the version numbers may change, but at least this is where the number reported to WinGet is saved. I was having trouble with WinGet constantly finding the upgrade available for Roku RemoteTool available and taking the time to download and install the program each time I ran Winget. Changing the value in that registry key seems to have resolved that glitch.

    Feed not being updated

    Hi all. Anyone having issues with their feed? I've added a new video to the feed of Channel ID: 271927 however it hasn't been updated since yesterday. The feed json file is fine and live. Any advise?

    Where do I find testers?

    I am looking for someone to test my beta app. Since it is sound system related I am trying to find individuals with different versions of Roku device and different versions of sound systems. Where do you guys find testers for your apps? Did you buy all (or more than one) Roku devices and test app by yourself? If you are willing to test my app that would be great, but that is not a long term solution for developers in general!

    Published Screen Saver Not in Store

    I created a screen saver and received the email that it was published. I can find the screen saver on roku.com without issue: Halloween Screen Saver Channels | TV Apps | Roku Channel Store | Roku However, the screen saver does not appear in the app store on the TV. Is there something I'm missing ? Thank you

    RAF + skippable Ads

    Hi. I need an advice. I need to implement skippable Ads on Roku. I use RAF to render Ads. According to the documentation, there is a method (setAdExit), which allows to skip Ads using Back button. It marked as deprecated though it currently works. But I need to implement the "full" version of skippable Ads, including countdown timer and Skip button. Does RAF have a built in functionality for this (there is no info in the documentation)? What other choices I have except RAF? Thanks.

    Help Needed – "mm_icon_focus_hd" Manifest Error Preventing Public App Submission

    Hello Roku Community, I’m trying to submit my Roku channel package to start the certification process for public publishing. However, I keep encountering the following error during the upload process: Manifest is missing a required attribute: "mm_icon_focus_hd" I’ve thoroughly reviewed and updated all manifest requirements and project files according to Roku's documentation. As far as I can tell, this attribute is properly configured, yet the system continues to flag it as missing, preventing me from proceeding with the upload. I’m unsure if this is a platform-side issue or if there's something subtle I'm overlooking. Additionally, I’ve contacted Roku Developer Support three times over the past few weeks. Each time, I waited more than 7 days, but unfortunately, I haven’t received any response. If anyone in the community has faced this issue or has insight on how to resolve it, I’d greatly appreciate your help. Thank you in advance! —Ginedy
