How to turn Disney Plus subtitles on and off
I’ve recently downloaded the Disney Plus app which I am aware that most shows/movies on Disney Plus offer foreign language subtitles but I am not able to access the subtitles menu. I am not sure if this is an oversight on Disney Plus side or with Roku. I have the TCL 6 Series TV with Roku TV preinstalled. I don’t have any problems bringing up the subtitles menu through Disney Plus mobile app so I know they actually have a subtitles menu. I am aware that closed captioning can be activated by pressing the asterisk on the remote but that is not the same as switching to a foreign language subtitle while keeping the audio in English. Why won't Disney Plus subtitles turn off?
On my TCL 5 series tv, the Disney Plus app works but for some reason, there are automatic subtitles on every show/movie. And there is no option to turn them off while watching the title. Also, lots of older titles like “Davy Crockett” have German subtitles. It’s quite hilarious, but frustrating that they cannot be adjusted on TCL Roku app. Anyone else experiencing this? While my son was watching Ravens Home on disney plus, as soon as he hit season 4 episode 1, the episode will play for about 3.5 minutes and then try to skip to the next episode. I spent over 2 hours online with tech support from disney plus, and did everything they could think of including a full factory reset of the roku, creating a new account on disney plus, and nothing worked.
