ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Setup Roku TV without internet There is Roku TV setup video on youtube where I don't see "Connect to internet later" option. Search for "*UPDATED* Complete Step by Step Roku TV Setup Guide - NEW Roku Plus Series QLED 4K Smart RokuTV". Please let me know which model number showed you that option. Re: Setup Roku TV without internet Can you tell me the TV model number you setup with "Connect to Internet later"? Re: Setup Roku TV without internet To be comfortable, I need to hear "I bought a Roku-branded (not TCL, not Hisense) TV, model number X, and was able to set it up without connecting to Internet and without creating an account, and watched my DVD just fine". A lot of comments here and nobody said that. Re: HDMI disconnect when TV is OFF Checking one of the 2 checkboxes you mentioned, under "HDMI CEC" (I don't remember which one), has fixed this problem. I don't know why Roku TV has non-standard behavior by default, but, at least, there is a checkbox to fix it - I'm so relieved I won't have to return this TV and shop again!!! Thank you! HDMI disconnect when TV is OFF I connect my laptop to a Roku TCL TV 32S350R using HDMI. After I turn the TV off by Power button on the remote, the laptop screen stays off - this is expected. Then, in about 10-15 minutes, without me doing anything, the laptop screen turns on by itself, as would happen if the HDMI cable were unplugged. Now, if I turn the TV back on by the remote, the laptop screen turns off, as if I've "plugged" the cable back in. But I don't touch the cable at all. This behavior is different from the previous Roku TV I had connected to this laptop, and different from any computer monitor I've ever used. I'm pretty sure it's wrong, and it's also very annoying as the laptop starts shining in my bedroom! I've tried another HDMI port, another cable, and updated the TV to version "13.0.0 build 24062-DD" today. The problem persists. SolvedRe: Setup Roku TV without internet RokuCarly you didn't provide any solution or answer to my question. I told you so. Still you mark your response as a "solution". This is weird. Re: Setup Roku TV without internet You didn't answer my question at all. Re: Setup Roku TV without internet You didn't answer my question at all. Setup Roku TV without internet I want to buy a Roku-branded TV but hear rumors that I must have internet to be able to even set it up, otherwise it's impossible to use it in any mode. Is that true? I understand I need internet to stream videos, but what if I want to use it in "dumb" mode to watch cable, HDMI or DVD in a location that doesn't have internet. Can I do that, or I'll have to take it somewhere where there is internet, to do the first-time setup? Solved
