Such a helpful response atc98092 wrote: laoscarbenavide if you had looked at the remote before you bought your TV, you would have noticed it didn't have numerical buttons. I did that sort of research after a Samsung TV I bought about 8 years ago also came with a simple remote with no numeric buttons. So, it's not just Roku TVs. Also, Roku doesn't make the TVs, so your complaint is really with Onn, or whomever made the TV in question. Finally, capitalizing each word in a sentence makes it more difficult to read. Please just use normal sentence structure. Re: Roku remotes with channel numbers? You actually can enter numbers for streaming channels and it will jump to them as you'd expect. You need a remote with numbers of course. I use a Logitech Harmony remote. Currently OTA channels do not offer this functionality or I haven't figured out how to do it. You need a way to enter the decimal point is my guess Re: Roku remotes with channel numbers? Just recently they've added the ability to switch directly among OTA channels using amazon alexa. You can also manually key in the streaming channels in the channel guide if you have a smart remote like the logitech harmony, I believe some other universal remotes also work. Not perfect but it's progress Re: Roku remotes with channel numbers? Dirtgirl64 wrote: That doesn't always work. Some of the channels aren't recognized by Roku. I have a channel I used to watch all the time but I no longer can because apparently Roku doesn't know it exists. I can't even scroll to it. Just jumps right over it. Have you tried rescanning your channels? Maybe the channel has been repacked? Re: Roku remotes with channel numbers? That's only available to people using roku through xfinity I believe Re: Roku remotes with channel numbers? I can't even get the app to understand my voice input, it has access to the mic, but plays stupid every time I use it Re: Roku remotes with channel numbers? So I use a Logitech Harmony remote to control my hisense roku tv and accidentally pressed a number on the keypad and the roku recognized it and puts up blue numbers on the screen. I haven't figured out how to make it actually to to the channel input and I assume there should be an input for the decimal on OTA channels, but this feels like progress. This may be a future feature that somehow slipped in. Something similar happened to me a couple months before they officially added streaming channels to the OTA channel guide. Edit: little searching through my Harmony setup and I actually added my house se tv as a tcl, I think at the time the database didn't have a hisense roku tv. Re: Roku remotes with channel numbers? The fact that the numbers show up where the regular white ones normally are has me really hopeful. Now that they also added streaming channels to the guide there are so many more to scroll through, so that makes also makes it feel likely we're getting this feature. Lastly, with the addition of the streaming channels to the guide I no longer have favorite channels separated out, leading to more scrolling still. Hope I'm right and we're on our way to the 20th century
